16-YEAR-OLD PERMIT PROGRAM

We offer a 6 Hour Behind the Wheel Program that is REQUIRED by the state for any 16-year old interested in obtaining a NJ Special Learner’s Permit.

Reminder, students need to pass the written test before they can begin behind the wheel instruction.  Please refer to our WRITTEN TEST SERVICE information if you have not passed the written test at school.

Over the 6 hours, we introduce the fundamental skills needed to become a safe, confident and responsible driver.  Each of our students receives one-on-one personalized instruction.

Lessons are generally scheduled in two-hour increments.  Our scheduling is flexible, with lessons taught 7 days a week.

Upon completing the 6 hours, the student receives their validated Special Learner’s Permit and an insurance reduction certificate.  (Refer to our FAQs page for more details on the driving restrictions for a 16-year-old with a Special Learner’s Permit.

PLEASE NOTE:  You MUST have your NJ Special Learner’s Permit for a minimum of 6 months and be at least 17 years old to take the state required road test for licensing.  (Refer to our Road Test Information page for more details on what is required for testing.)
